The OMG-ULTRA-COMM422 provides the PC with four RS-485/422 Asynchronous links to data collection or other devices. Individually selectable addresses and extended ╥AT╙ interrupts allow for seamless integration into DOS, Windows 3.1x/95/NT and OS/2 systems. The OMG-ULTRA-COMM422 appears to the host system as a standard COM: port requiring no special drivers or additional software.

A serial utility diskette is supplied with the OMG-ULTRA-COMM422 which includes all the Windows and DOS tools necessary to verify the installation and operation of the board. Windows utilities include .INF files for Windows installation and also a Windows NT COM: Port Installation Utility. DOS utilities include a diagnostic program to verify card address and examine the UART, a diagnostic serial loopback test program and an interrupt driven DOS serial port driver.
